The original Flicx Pitch was developed and manufactured in South Africa – however now with the advent and development of our 2G product; we have been able to move all production and assembly over to here in the UK which means lower lead times on all orders and completely flexibility over the design and colours of your pitch (for those choosing to move away from our traditional green match pitch)
A full length pitch (22.12m x 1.8m) takes around an hour to put together and is made from a number of these tiles which themselves are manufactured in Suffolk by a plastics company called Roland Plastics Ltd. They specialise in the supply of precision engineered injection mouldings and assemblies in a wide range thermoplastic materials, produced on state of the art machines.

From here, our assembly men ( Rob) pitch together the pitches, clipping and hammering the slots in place before trimming the excess clips from any outer edges. The whole process takes between 1-2 hours. You will notice from our blog and website, that we now also produce two brand new coaching pitches, the skills pitch and the eagle-eyed pitch with the same process applying only with coloured tiles being used in line with the design so with coloured strips to show pitching in line as well as target tiles to aid the skill development of young players.
A 2G Flicx Match Pitch is carefully constructed (like lego) by hand in our warehouse on Hinton Airfield
Once the pitch is completed, it is rolled up tightly and tied with 2 straps before being placed in a mesh bag and readied for dispatch to our customers to support the development of cricket facilities and talent – allowing cricket to be played pretty much anywhere!
The finished pitches, rolled up and ready to be dispatched to clubs around the world

Good news for all cricket clubs and schools ahead of the new season has been announced today by the Flicx UK Managing Director Richard Beghin with the launch of an early bird deal on all 2G Flicx Pitches purchased before 31st March 2015.
Is your club looking to improve its facilities this season?
“We delighted to go into what is now our second season with the 2G Flicx Pitch- The new pitch has shown it is so much more versatile than its predecessor. The biggest development of all is that it can be used safely and successfully indoors- thus making it a truly adaptable cricket pitch that can be used in both summer and winter.”
The discount deal coincides with the first Cricket Club Expo event taking place at Lord’s this Saturday where the pitch will be available for demo by visiting clubs. Feedback on the 2G Flicx Pitch which launched at the same series of events last year has been hugely positive with the key benefit being the versatility of the product which can be used both indoors and outdoors. The pitch is now manufactured in the UK which has cut down the delivery time quite considerably and you can bespoke your pitch with the addition of a sponsors logo or your choice of colours & design.
The performance benefits are there for both batters and bowlers to experience with a consistent bounce that supports both seam and spin bowling whilst the batters can play their shots in confidence. Popular applications remain using your Flicx Pitch to increase your junior capacity, to protect your main crease from overuse, to transform a field, astro or 3G pitch into a cricket facility or just wild and wacky games such as the Guinness World Record Breaking match which took place at the top of Mt Kilimanjaro.
As well as seeing the pitch for yourself at the three cricket expo events coming up in the next few weeks (register for free entry at http://www.cricketclubexpo.com ) , you can also read a number of testimonials on our website (www.flicx.co.uk) and blog or by connecting with us on social media.

Flicx UK, have an exciting challenge running to launch their new 2G surface which will allow cricketers to test the new colourful surface with improved bounce and better seam and spin performance. Our winner will take home a bottle of champagne in a test that will measure your bowling accuracy, batting technique and catching reactions!!
The Flicx team will be present to answer any questions on the surface performance and managing director Richard Beghin will be presenting in the seminar programme on the benefits and application of the new pitch. Testing has shown that our 2G tiles create a softer pitch that is easier to work with and has shown to be less slippery when wet versus its predecessor.
In addition we are now able to bespoke and brand the pitches to fit a school or clubs requirements with sponsors logo’s able to be added. A Flicx Pitch means you can play cricket on any flat surface by converting existing sports fields into a cricket pitch – as well as being great for indoor cricket training and as a coaching aid for juniors increasing the capacity of your training sessions and adding an element of fun.
